Editorial Guidelines for
PLG Articles and Book Reviews
So, you want to write for the PLG? Here are the basic rules.
- You have to be a PLG member. This is not an open publishing endeavor, it is an attempt to create a professional Library presence in the Pagan community. If you're not willing to join the community, you're not allowed to write on our behalf.
- Articles should be between 1000 and 2500 words; Book Reviews between 500 and 1500 words. Articles under 1000 words will not be considered for publication. We prefer that you send it as a file in a program like Microsoft Word. If you don't have Word, please send as a .txt or .rtf file, or in the body of an e-mail.
- Be nice to your editor. Please do not indent your paragraphs, do capitalize Witch, Wicca and Pagan, and please spell check your essay before sending it.
- If you know html coding, that helps but please keep the coding minimalparagraph breaks and formatting for emphasis (i.e., bold and italic) are all that's needed. Please do not use tables, font faces or colors, backgrounds, or rules
- Please be sure to credit any outside sources. Formal bibliographic notation is always helpful.
- Specific information for reviews. When submitting book reviews, please include all relevant publication data, pagination, and price. Also, reviews should conclude with recommendations for specific collections, i.e. this book is well suited to larger/smaller collections focusing on Shamanic practice, Psychic phenomena, etc.
- All authors should also include a short (100 words or less) biographical statement, which might include someone's magical experience or tradition, their occupation, their Library background, their current projects, articles they have already published, etc.
