Very good post. We should all think about the things you have brought up.
Every religion probably has a few skeltons in the closet, but why should we concentrate on what happened in the past? If changes are for the good all, then shouldn't we accept that as change for the better? Can any one religion be 100% right about everything?
I know that the churches in the first century were not all in agreement over everything they did. They had disagreements about lots of things. But how was that handled? I don't think it could be put any better than in Romans 14. Wouldn't it be great if all christians could follow Paul's advice? Romans 15:1-13 tells us what?
Isn't the advice Jesus gave about loving each other as ourselves setting the best example any true Christian could follow?
Being a good Christian means helping each other. I don't believe God would punish anyone for doing things to help others. The most important thing is what is in your heart, not what church you go to.
