I think you're absolutely right! This beast is an ambiguous one and Babylon is probably covering up the people pulling the strings in the world commerce world.
It seems all too clear to me, for instance, that if Russia wasn't so in need of the IMF, which seems to hold the real strings with these countries in trouble, they would have been more aggressive in their initial disapproval of the Kosovo problem. But it's true, if you disagree with America now, who also is providing you with finantial aid, then all your people will revolt and go hungry. So money now is a bottom line in politics in a big way.
Also good point on "fall" vs "destruction." How will Babylon fall? Maybe it will be exposed or weakened in some clear way before it is totally destroyed.
I think we have to understand how this scenario might play out. For instance, let's say there has been some illegal cooperation between some of these government programs, big business and the drug trade which is a multi-billion-dollar operation. And in the midst of this scandal, the entire funds into the multi-billions are discovered and consfiscated! That could happen.
Especially since Congress has gotten the hungries for money from huge conglomerates such as "big tobacco", appropriating themselves hundreds of billions of dollars, etc.
So it could happen, with these smart lawyers and these strange laws on the books about appropriation and the pressure to feed the world now, seems like the commercial powers to be will at least have their funds appropriated by the U.N. in the process of being totally dismantled and exposed. Congress only neds one legal excuse of loophole to do it legally.
We'll have to see.
