Where is the truth
In a response to my post on KHall sold to Church you wrote: "In that case, I suggest that you can make some pretty good dough doing business with the Colombian Cali cartel."In your zeal to defend your views, do you find that you need to lower yourself to gutter low sarcasm? What are you trying to accomplish?
Yes, my reply was meant to be a little sarcastic in hope of provoking thought, whether you agreed with me or not.
Your comment that "I really don't see where it is the anyone's business who you do business with" was made as though it is ridiculous and offensive for any community to be concerned with whom you do business. That is a splendidly foolish idea. Let me illustrate another way. Presuming you have children, would you care if they conducted illicit business with drugs like cocaine and heroine amongst known gangs? Do you think the rest of the community would care about that business activity enough to make it their business? What if your next door neighbor was conducting a kiddy porn business? Would you make that your business? Of course you would.
My point is that every community has a right to set standards of conduct for itself. We may not agree with another communitys standards but we must respect them. Just think how settling that idea would be if invoked right now in Yugoslavia.
In fact, each of us chooses our own social associations based at least somewhat upon our personal standards. We tend to flock together with others holding similar if not identical standards. In other words, we make other peoples standards our own business by choosing to associate upon that basis. We all do it.
So, getting back to the point, my initial comments were intending to answer what you saw as a potential double standard. I see you have not disputed that no double standard exists based upon to whom a kingdom hall is sold?
It's attitudes like yours that make me so glad that I am away from JWs. Could you please learn a few manners?
If you were offended I apologize, that was not my intent. My intent was to make you think how wrong your idea is about others making your business their business, at least to some degree. Again, communities have a right to set their own standards even if that sometimes includes making our business others business. Remember, we can all choose our own community of association and in every case we must yield something in order to belong.
And finally, unlike most JWs, drug dealers most likely pay their bills.
Now, that is a rude insult to every one of Jehovahs Witnesses. You, the one saying do not intentionally insult, do you intentionally insult? Are you the type person that would punish several for what you presume one has done to you? Why not ask before you go off, especially before going off on innocent bystanders?
Now, do you care to post some evidence of your quite ludicrous claim that more than 50% of Jehovahs Witnesses most likely dont pay their bills? No? I thought so.
And further I do not see where it is any business of elders or anyone in the WT organization, to know who my customers are.
Assuming someone wants to associate with the JW community, thats fine, unless you choose a course of business that your chosen community sets apart as unacceptable. The same can be said of most any community you choose as your own. If you dont believe me just check with your local police department.
