Scenario A : The Initial Assault

Deployment and special rules



This game lasts for 6 turns.

Random terrain setup.

3 bugholes to be deployed as shown on the map.

Invaders deploy all units first. At least half of the invaders' units must start on the board, including any vehicles and walkers. The remainder may be kept as reserves and may enter play via deep stirke even if not normally possible.

1500 points worth of arachnids, including at least 1 HQ, will be used. At least half of the units must be deployed. The remainder may be placed in reserves and enter play automatically via any bughole at the start of the movement phase.

All arachnids' gaunts with 1 wound on their original profile will have 2 wounds for this scenario only.

Before the game begins, all arachnid units deployed receive an orbital bombardment. Each model is hit on a 4+ and suffers a Str 8 AP 6 attack.

The invaders have the first turn.

Victory Conditions

Invaders : You win this scenario if you have destroyed a HQ, including all bodyguards, OR have eliminated up to 700 points worth of arachnids.

Arachnids : You win this scenario if you have destroyed 700 points of the invaders AND all your HQ units survive the battle, bodyguards not included.

Effects on the Final Battle

Invaders win : You may declare an obital bombardment twice in the battle at any time, during your shooting phase, as per the rule above.

Arachnids win : Every troop choice of all invading armies begin with only half, rounding up, the number of models.
