500 points There wasn't much tactical finesse involved. Both the Grey Knights and Space Wolves advanced while firing their storm bolters or boltguns. Close combat was quickly achieved near the middle of the board. Against the strength of 6 of the Grey Knights, the Space Wolves didn't fare too well. Only the Venerable Dreadnought held out in combat. With some good fortune, the Venerable Dreadnought despite being glanced twice was only shaken and stunned. At the end of the fourth turn, the Venerable Dreadnought stood alone in victory. I'll have to admit, in such a small battle, a Venerable Dreadnought seems a little out of place. However, against Grey Knights and their fearsome strength of 6 and their storm bolters, I didn't think my Space Wolves stood much of a chance otherwise. I didn't think it was too unfriendly given that Grey Knights with their strenght of 6 did have quite the chance of bring down the Venerable Dreadnought and they nearly did too. It was truly some measure of good fortune that he survived to clinch the victory. Especially in the first round of combat against the Terminators. Three attacks, two hits, two wounds, two failed invulnerable saves, two dead Terminators. If the two Terminators didn't die in the first round of the combat, their thunderhammers could very easily have knocked the Venerable Dreadnought around. All in all, it was pretty fun. Perhaps I'll use the 40K-in-40mins rules in future for such small games.
