Feb 2004: President Bush did something no other president in U.S. history has ever done: he demanded a constitutional amendment to require discrimination in America. This amendment would ban same-sex marriage and could invalidate civil unions or other legal protections for same-sex couples and their children... See photos from the local protest of Bush here on L.I. ....To date, San Francisco officials have issued over 4,000 marriage licenses to couples from 46 states. Locally, mayors of New Paltz NYand Nyack NY have officiated same-sex marriage ceremonies

SAME-SEX MARRIAGE SYMPOSIUMS

The symposiums held on April 21 and 29 on the SUNY Stony Brook campus were a great success! Panelists debating the issue were affiliated with a wide variety of organizations. Read more here...
