Save the Plants Keep Earth Green

How Can I Help?

Recycle
~ All kinds of paper can be recycled, not just news papers. Pay attention to what you throw away. About 40% of you trash is some sort of paper product.

~ Instead of throwing used paper products in the trash, put them in a recycling bin instead. A little bit can go a long way. Try it for a week, the average person throws away about 1.9 lb of paper each week.

At Home

~ Try to use the back of a sheet of paper when ever you can. Keep a box of scrap paper to use on art projects or for you grocery lists.

~ Buy recycled printer paper. 30%-60% recycled paper is sold in most office supply stores and is of the same price and quality as normal Printer paper.

~ If recycling is not collected in your neighboorhood or comunity, find the nearest recycling center to you. Keep a bin of your own and make a trip once or twice a month. Encourage your neighboors to do the same and take turns dropping off goods.

~ To find the nearest recycling center to you, click here and type key word "Recycling" and your zip code.

At work

~ Start a eco-friendly paper program to reduce, reuse and recycle paper. Have incentives for wasting less paper. Remember using less paper saves money too.

~ Buy paper products from companies that sell forest friendly paper.Click here for a list of Suppliers.

Ancient forest friendly paper is defined as:
i. Recycled paper,
ii. And/or paper produced with virgin fibre originating from forests certified to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC),
iii. And/or tree free paper sources (e.g., agricultural residue, cotton, hemp, flax and kenaf).
Avoid the "recyclable" trap - almost all paper can be recycled - so even if a brand is "100% recyclable" it may not be made from recycled fiber.(www.greenpeace.org)
