| Leo Joseph Dushane was the fifth child born to John and Mary Dushane. He was born on November 5, 1902 in Marquette, Michigan. He married Mary Margaret Dionne on May 19, 1934 in Marquette. They had one child, Leo Joseph Leonard born on August 4, 1939. Two days after the birth of their son, Margaret died due to complication related to childbirth. Unable to raise his son alone, Leo ask Margaret's sister, Bernadette Dionne Markosky to raise his son until he was able to do so. Bernadette raised Leo to the age of 3. On July 1, 1942 Leo remarried to Goldie Evelyn Platz. Together they had four children, Howard Eugene, George William, Myrtle Ann and Virginia Mary. Leo was a life long resident of Marquette. He was also a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He died on September 10, 1961 in Marquette, Michigan and is buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Marquette. |
