Leona Josephine Dionne was born to Antoine Dionne and Mary Louisa Aldia Chartier on March 24, 1906 in Marquette, Michigan. She was the fourth child born of fifteen.
Leona married John Mangum Dushane on February 21, 1922 in Marquette, Michigan. They had seven children prior to divorcing. She later married John Kurian. Her younger sister, Mary Margaret, married Leo Joseph Dushane, younger brother of John in 1934.
Leona was a life long resident of Marquette. She worked for the Marquette Public Schools for 20 years. She died April 2, 1998 and is buried at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Marquette.
