Standing tall under an even taller Oak tree is the tombstone of John Dushane. He died at a young age so we never had the great fortune of knowing him and neither did our fathers.
John Dushane was our grandfather. Born March 15, 1874 in Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Thomas Dushane and Ellen Poliquin.
We know very little about John, his family, or their lives prior to immigrating to the United States. What we do know has been learned through official records in Marquette County. His name is recorded in the marriage, death and cemetery records, as well as the local newspaper and city directories. |
