De Stad Zortsel heeft faciliteiten voor de Duitstalige gemeenschap. Dit betekent, dat Nederlands en Duits de officiele talen zijn. Hoewel voor de meesten inwoners in Zortsel geldt, dat zij Duits als moedertaal hebben, is de Nederlandse taal wettelijk hiermee gelijkgesteld. Iedereen dient op zijn direct of indirect verzoek in zijn eigen taal te worden bediend door de overheidsdiensten en in semi-openbare gelegenheden als koffiehuis, restaurant en bar. Overtredingen van de taalwetgeving kunt u melden bij de Commissie voor de Nationale Eenheid. Inwoners van gebieden met faciliteiten voor de Duitstalige gemeenschap kunnen er in hun contacten met alle Lentbergse centrale overheden voor kiezen op hun verzoek in het Duits bediend te worden.
The City of Zortsel has facilities for the Germanspeaking Community. This means that, both Dutch and German are official languages. Although for most of the inhabitants of Zortsel German is their native language, Dutch is legally equivalent. Everyone must be served on his direct or indirect request in his own language by public institutions both as in semi-public localities such as caf�s, restaurants and shops. Violations of the language laws can be reported to the Commission on National Unity. Inhabitant of cities with facilities for the Germanspeaking Community have the possibility to be served, on their request, in their contacts to the central Lentburian Authorities, in German.
