This domain requires that the candidate recognize that students, their families and others have cultural differences and those differences need to be acknowledged in all communications.

Exhibit Explanation

The parent letter is a sample communication with families.

Rationale

The letter explains the Mardi Gras celebration that will be celebrated in class. The letter indicates that parents may communicate with me in a variety of alternate means. The letter also recognizes that not all students live with their families.The newsletter is also used to communicate with parents about French class and its expectations.
