| Exams Unit 1: Chapters 16-21. Exam date: Mar. 27 Unit 2: Chapters 22-26 Exam date: Apr. 5 Research Project: due Apr. 12 Note: one letter grade per calendar day, which includes weekends and holidays, is deducted for each day late. No exceptions. Final Exam: Apr. 24 Attendance Any student who misses the equivalent of two weeks of class (two total absences for the seven-week term) will receive an "F" for the course. The grade may be reduced from the first day of class to the last day of class. Additionally, students who are disruptive, sleeping or otherwise distracting other students or the instructor will be asked to leave, with the ejected student being counted absent for the day and receiving a 0 on the day's work. Habitual Tardiness Any student arriving after class has started and/or roll has been taken will be counted as absent for that class. Late students are a distraction from the educational process, a display of bad manners and a lack of respect for the instructor and fellow students. Any student who arrives five minutes after the start of a 100-point exam will not be allowed to take the exam and will receive a 0 for the grade. Plagiarism & Cheating Policy The instructor will not tolerate plagiarism or cheating in any form. A grade of 0 will be given for the project or exam, as well as an F for the course. Further, she will use every resource to have the student expelled from the university, have the incident noted on the student's permanent academic record, and rescind any/all merit-based financial aid or scholarships. In order to complete this course, all students are required to read this detailed Plagiarism Policy and follow the instructions there. Further, all students are required to enroll at www.turnitin.com using the course ID # 1842454, password: history before any of their assignments will be graded or returned.
