Term Paper Requirements
Here's a quick checklist to help you make sure you have met all the requirements for submitting your final paper:

1. Cover page optional.
2. Times New Roman font.
3. 12 pt. type
4. Default margins (usually 1").
5. Double spaced only, except for quotations more than four lines long and footnotes.
6. Papers should usually be 5-6 pages long; shorter papers generally reflect less effort and will therefore receive lower grades.
7. Must be printed on word processor; no handwritten work accepted
8. Either footnotes or endnotes are acceptable.
9. All websites are either pre-approved or have a .gov, .edu, or .mil extension, or an .org site that your instructor has previously approved. Wikipedia is
not an acceptable source. Ever.
10. All research papers must have at least two articles from Jstor that are *not* book reviews.
11. Bibliography written in Turabian *or* MLA format.
12. Submitted on or before the deadline noted on the course syllabus (one letter grade penalty for each calendar day late, including weekends and holidays).
13. Paper must be downloaded to
www.turnitin.com *and* a hard copy given to the instructor.
14. Hard copy must have attached the
proposal and outline for the project that were graded and returned earlier in the semester.
15. All materials will be returned and items such as photos and CDs or other unique items (family photos, letters, or other heirlooms) are welcome. They will be well cared for and promptly returned.
16. Paper must have single staple in top left hand corner and be placed in the back pocket of the
course notebook. No folders or those insidious sliding stick things are allowed.
