| Course Notebook | ||||
| In this course, each student is required to keep a course notebook. This is intended to house all of the documents related to the course for the ease of the student and the instructor. This facilitates accuracy in the grading process by allowing the instructor to double check records, guaranteeing that students receive credit for the work they have completed. This completed notebook is due on the same day as the research paper and must meet the following criteria: 1. Only two-pocket, three-prong paper folders are allowed. No manila folders, sliding stick plastic cover things, or any other substitute. These paper folders retail for about .65 cents each, so no whining, please. 2. The first page in the folder must be this sheet, filled out as completely as possible. 3. The second document in your folder must be the course syllabus. 4. The third item must be this plagiarism agreement, signed by both the student and the instructor no later than the second day of class. 5. There must be a clear method to your folder organization. You may arrange your work either by date or by type (all quizzes together, all exams together, research paper proposal and outline together). What is essential is that no student submits a pile of papers for the instructor to sift through. This will not only anger the gods, but result in a negative effect on your grade. 6. Your final research project should be submitted in the back pocket of this folder with only one single staple in the top left-hand corner. Again, I reiterate #1 above --- no other folder covers will be accepted. |
