| Research Project Options for United States History Students |

| If you are a student in US History 2010 (US1) or US History 2020 (US2), you are required to complete a 5-6 page (1200 to 1500 word) research, or "term" paper. You have three broad areas from which to choose: The Book Review The Research Paper (here are some ideas for US 1.) (here are some ideas for US 2.) The Newspaper Analysis This is intended to be a project that showcases a student's work over the course of the semester, so thoughtful consideration should be given to topic selection. The biggest mistake students make is procrastination. This project simply cannot be "slam dunked," or otherwise produced over a very short period of time with the expectation of receiving a good grade. Further, the project consists of a proposal (worth 10 points) and an outline (worth 40 points) are submitted in accordance with the due dates stated on the syllabus.
