The Lady Colonels avenged an earlier loss to the Terriers by defeating them 50 - 42. Senior point guard Ashley Simmons had 15 points, 3 rebounds, blocks and steals and 2 assists. Senior forward Janee Jennings had 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals. Freshman forward Sidra Johnson scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Sophomore forward Brandi Smith had 6 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, an assist and blocked a shot. Junior guard Shayla Vance led the team in assists with 3 and scored 4 points. Sophomore center Kim Foster had a bucket, 5 rebounds, 3 blocked shots and 4 steals. Junior guard Sade Robinson scored 2 points to complete the Fleming scoring.

Having to play three games in three days caught up with the Lady Colonels as they lost to Cave Spring 44-42 in overtime. As most observers of the game know, once the legs go, missed shots, unforced turnovers and untimely fouls soon follow. To put it simply, Fleming just ran out of gas. Shayla Vance led the team with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals Janee Jennings had 8 points, 8 rebounds, a steal and 7 good defenseive plays. Kim Foster laid in 4 points, was 100% at the free throw line for 2 more points, grabbed 6 rebounds and blocked 5 shots. Ashley Simmons added another 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, 2 assists and a steal. Brandi Smith led the team with 9 rebounds while scoring 3 points, blocking 2 shots, stealing 2 passes, dishing off 4 assists and making 8 good defensive plays. Sidra Johnson had 2 points, 2 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Sade Robinson had 2 points and 2 rebounds. Marcia Sullivan had a free throw and a rebound to complete the Fleming scoring.

The Lady Colonels blew a seven point 3rd quarter lead by returning to a one on five offense that lost the game by a score of 41-35. Ashley Simmons led the team with 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, a block and a steal. Janee Jennings added 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Shayla Vance scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Brandi Smith chipped in 2 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, a block and an assist. Kim Foster scored a free throw and pulled down 7 rebounds. Sidra Johnson had 3 rebounds, 2 blockes and a steal.

Hopefully, the Lady Colonels learned a few things from the clinic Botetourt put on for them tonight: 1. Whether you think you'll win or think you'll lose, you're right; 2. It's hard to shoot and score with your hands around your throat; 3. Boxing out air doesn't bother opponents at all; and 4. Watching opponents shoot jumpers does not constitute good defense. In the 60-27 loss Janee Jennings scored 10 points and had 2 steals. Shayla Vance came off the bench to score 6 points, grab 2 rebounds and steal 2 passes. Jazmine Carter had 4 points and 4 rebounds. Brandi Smith chipped in 3 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists and a steal. Sidra Johnson was scoreless, but had 4 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. LaCara Smith had a steal and 3 defensive stops. Kim Foster and Sade Robinson both had 2 rebounds, 2 blocks and a steal.
