This left pic is of a spindel and a stick I have cut down from one of several I obtained. On the knots page I will be using the pics for the knot tied on this knob. The right pic is of the same stick with knotting done on the shaft and basically finished. Below is a close up of the top knob area.

This knob is from a dolls head sphere obtained at a craft store, and the shaft is from a pool cue. It still has the metal weight in the handle from the cue and is a bit weighty. But this feels good to me and I don't mind. Also, the knob is large, but I have a big hand and am used to it.

The Acrylic sealer makes the rope stiff and the texture makes for the feeling of a good traction grip in the palm of the hand. No slipping from moisture on a hot or damp day. We have hot days in Texas!

The cane below is stained with an Old English brown on Red Oak. It is a very sturdy stick! The knots on this are sealed with a poly acrylic.
