The 411 on Voltron

The GoLion Voltron series originally aried in the early 80s (1981) in Japan before making it to the US in 1984. What most people don't know, was that when Voltron came to the US, it was pieced together from two different shows, much like Robotech was. The two shows were the original "GoLion" (Lion Force) and the "Dairugger XV" (Vehicle Force). These two shows had to be re-edited so that storylines would somewhat match. Now, while this may seem stupid, look how well it worked for Robotech...

A little more trivia for you; Toei, the company that orginally produced Voltron in Japan, made a whole quasi-series of Voltron shows throughout the late 70s and early 80s. These include Hyperelectromagnetic Robo Combattler V, Hyperelectromagnetic Machine Voltes V, Battling General Daimos, Future Robo Daltanius, Space Emperor Godsigma, Golion, King of a Hundred Beasts, Armored Fleet Dairugger XV, and Light Speed Lightning God Albegas.

Voltron debuted with initially 104 episodes. The Lion Voltron Force consited of 5 separate Lion ships that made up the famous robot, and the Vehicle Voltron was made up of 15 separate vehicles that formed another different Voltron. Both strong and powerful, they served to protect the Galaxy against the evil forces that threatened to destroy them. Unfortunately, I know close to nothing about Vehicle Voltron or any of the other seven Voltron series. What little information I have on this series will be posted on this page, but you'll have to go elsewhere to get any detailed information. The GoLion series however, is what this site is based on, the information should be fairly accurate and detailed (if I ever get around to putting it up... lazy Melissa...).
