The fusing together of different coloured metals creates interesting and unusual effects. In this double module we look at the ancient techniques of mokume gane, sheet and wire inlay and piercing techniques. The students produce samples of piercing using the piercing saw and various inlay samples and then onto design and make a brooch that incorporates piercing and inlay techniques. materials used could include: silver, copper, brass, acrylic and stone.
