Today, September 27, 2001, Misty lost his battle with cancer. I had been working on this site for a couple weeks, (since I was at home every spare second tending to his every need) and this was the last page left, and now I must finish it, as a way to help us deal with the emptiness and profound loss that Kathy and I both feel. We want everyone who has pets to really question the necessity of vaccinations. Sometimes, there may be a need for it, like if your animal comes into contact with other animals. Misty was strictly an indoor kitty, except the times we took him in our backyard and stood watch over him. If we knew then what the consequences of getting him vaccinated would have been, we would have NEVER done it. You hear the odds and think it won't happen to your animal, but sadly, it could, and it is a terrible monster. We believe that education and proper assesment of each individual animal could prevent a lot of heartbreak down the road. Please ask your vet about VAS, Vaccine Associated Sarcoma, and discuss if you really need them. Remember to tell your companion animals how much you love them every day and really cherish every moment with them. Our time together is never long enough. We love you Misty.
