FELINE CANCER RESOURCE
| CANCER SUPPORT GROUPS | |
|
Cancer support groups are an invaluable source of information,
experience and emotional support. We joined two groups when we found
out Misty had cancer. The people in our groups have been there for us
when we were depressed, needed help, or needed advice on anything from
treatment protocols to appetite stimulants. Talking with others who
have a common bond and understanding for the pain you are going through
can make all the difference in the world. The two groups we belong to

| IMPORTANT: REGARDING HUMAN CANCER CHARITIES | |
|
Make sure that the cancer charity you donate to doesn't pay for cruel,
pointless experiments on animals. Instead of ravaging animals' bodies
for cures for human diseases, compassionate charities focus their research
where the best hope for treatment lies: with humans. Human volunteers,
clinical studies, autopsy reports, and statistical and epidemiological
analysis provide useful data on people with diseases and disabilities.
Human cell cultures and tissue studies, in vitro tests, and artificial
human "skin" and "eyes" mimic the body's natural properties
and provide scientists with less expensive alternatives to animal tests.
In addition, a number of sophisticated computer virtual organs serve as
accurate models of human body parts. (Words from PETA-
