Dr. Lewis also pointed out another benefit is the small class sizes, "The size of the institution means that I get to know students better than I would at a larger institution, and to work more closely with colleagues in other departments."

A sociology degree requires at least 42 credit hours.

Students "learn the fundamental concepts of sociological study, statistics, research methods in the social sciences, the origins and development of sociological theory to current times and how to do a senior thesis in the program's capstone course" (Sociology at Benedictine University pamphlet).

Dr. Lewis mentioned most sociology majors tend to pursue their master's degree in social work while other get job offers connected with their senior internship.

All in all, most sociology and psychology majors end in a field that they enjoy and originally intended on working in.
