The Land Cruiser 75 Specification | FAQ | How to buy a LC J7 Guide Land Cruiser 75 History The Land Cruiser 75 was introduced in 1984 as a successor to the LC 45 troopies. In other words, the new Land Cruiser would have to pick up and carry anything that had made the Land Cruiser 45 so tremendously popular. It didn't look like a easy job, but the engineers had done their job well and the buyers were satisfied. The first engine available was the 3B (a inline 4 diesel engine) .The following year the 3F (inline six petrol) and the 2H (inline six diesel) were available. Both diesel engines were replaced in 1990 by a pair of new diesels: the inline five 1-PZ and the inline six 1-HZ . The 1-PZ is a actually a cut off 1-HZ. The petrol engine was allowed to carry on a bit longer, but in 1992 it was replaced by a new development: the 1FZ-F , a powerful inline six . The 1FZ FE version available later was a EFI version. Together with the diesel engine replacements in 1990, the old grille was replaced by a new design in plastic. The interior colours were also changed. On the outside the rear bumper was replaced by a new one with a large step in the middle instead of the old one with the step under the left barn door. In 1995 the Land Cruiser 80 was updated, and one of the features was a new grille with the Toyota brand in the middle of the grille. The 75 also got a new grille matching the one of the LC 80. This last version of the 75 was replaced in the autumn 99 by the Land Cruiser 78 . Engines discontinued in the Land Cruiser 75 |
