Rubén de Green: Drummer, who with precision and no fantasy tricks enforces the rhythm section, rolling his drums and cymbals with passion. Influenced mainly by the legendary "Big Eyes Smith". Musically involved with "Brujita" since 1989, co-founder of la misma cosa , and co-organizer of the International Blues Festival Guadalajara, they bring together, for three consecutive nights, a select group of musicians that share their taste for the Blues, in front of more than 11,000 people.
Ruben starts off as a self taught musician at the age of 16, always designing his own methods. By 1983 he enrolls in the Academia Musical Lemus, where he works on his technique for over two years. Due to his interest in the African-American musical genres, he decides to improve his English through his Masters Degree, a project allowing him the opportunity to travel to the USA, and reason for which he gets a closer look at the style, played by its native performers.
For him as well as Brujita, the most important thing has been to keep the rough Blues feeling in their style, and by doing this, they have opened the doors to places where the Blues was unexpected. |
