| "Brujita": Bass guitar and vocals, begins her professional music career in 1989, playing for almost three years with a local Rhythm and Blues band, who recorded an LP that was acclaimed as the best Blues production in México for 4 consecutive years by the national newspaper: El Excelsior (90-93). She starts studying music at the age of 14 with her school choir, performing at different venues throughout the country, Following that, she pursuits further studies at the school of music of the Universidad de Guadalajara. In 1989, she enrolls in the "Curso-Taller de Blues" (Blues Workshop) with Genaro Palacios, -a renowned local Blues musician- with whom she would share the stage during the following three years. In 1992, she founds la misma cosa; a band which, after only a few days, worked their way into playing their first concert in front of more than 5000 people, achieving such reponse, that guaranteed a promising carrer. In 1998 she starts getting involved in the organization of significant concerts for the development of the Blues scene in Guadalajara, and by the year 2000 she brings to life the first edition of The International Blues Festival Guadalajara. Influenced by Willie Dixon, Etta James, Elmore James, Buddy Guy, Big Mama Thorton, Jimmy Reed and other classic bass players of the Chicago Blues sound, she is a fundamental part of the band's style, and a key element in seducing audiences with rhythmical sensuality. audiences. |
