Penny is the image of her mother, Lucy, she's just liver in color. I was not expecting a liver puppy from Lucy. Her first litter was 11 black puppies. When Penny was born, I kept rubbing her, because something was definitely "wrong." Low and behold, when I held her up to one of the other puppies, she was liver. I never expected a liver, let alone a liver of excellent quality. Penny possesses beautiful breed type, and a becoming head piece. She is very elegant and sound in movement. I just wished she liked to show . . . and she has done well, but I can't seem to get her to break out of the "I hate shows" mentality. Hopefully, we will be able to finish her in 2003. Penny will be spayed after her championship, and will then move on to performance events with her co-owners, Joe Doyle and Mary Nixon-Doyle.
