The answer is yes. The truth is always the truth, or it would not be the truth, it would be a lie.
There are lots of truths, and because they are not taught in church, it does not make them a lie. So all truth does not originate in church, the bible or from preachers. Example.. does water flow through power lines to provide electricity to our homes. The answer is no. That would be a lie. Does electricity flow through power lines to provide electricity to our homes. Yes! This is truth. There are multi-millions of truths all over the world, but they are not taught or preached in churches.
Now here is a trick question, so be careful how you answer. Does Satan ever tell the truth? The Bible says the devil is a liar, so the answer I always get is, No, Satan always lies.
Okay, that is a lie. Satan does speak the truth, and he does so more often than you may think! The difference is, Satan tells the truth to cause trouble.
If Satan witnessed someone do something illegal, and he reported this crime to the authorities, he would be speaking the truth, but it would be to get that person in trouble. Depending on the crime, people are guilty to telling the truth to cause trouble, and this is wrong for them to do, yet they will do it over and over, thinking they are being righteous. Now, I am not an advocate of crime, but there is so much trouble in the world because people don't mind their own business.
Let's take a look at the crime this person is committing. If this person is breaking in a home or property of someone else, then it should be reported. Anthing that causes harm or destruction to others is wrong and should be reported.
What if this person is shooting a deer out of season to provide food for his kids? It might be hard to believe, but there are children in this country who go to bed every night without food. People will report something like this to the authorities for the purpose of getting them in trouble, without even knowing whether they are starving or not. This is just an example to show that truth is often used by people to cause problems for others.
I also like to ask people what a liar is. Is a liar someone who lies all the time? I always get the same answer, yes, a liar lies all the time. Again, this is not the truth. If a liar lied all the time, then he would never tell the truth. I don't believe this is possible. I believe if a person lied all the time, they would simply explode. Some people lie alot, but they have to tell the truth sometimes. They can lie about their name, they can lie about lots of things, but sooner or later they would have to tell the truth. So a liar does not lie all the time, but most of the time, or alot.
So when we put sin in this perspective, does a thief steal all the time? No a thief steals alot or often, but not all the time.
This all boils down to Satan does tell the truth, but he uses it for deception, and to cause trouble.
