Turn your eyes upon Jesus

STATEMENT OF FAITH

1.
We believe in the verbal inspiration of the accepted canon of Sacred Scriptures as originally given. (2Timothy 3:16-17; 2Peter 1:20-21; 1Corinthians 2:13)

2.
We believe in the existence of One True GodHead, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 1:18-21; Matthew 28:19, 2Corinthians 5:19; Galatians 3:20)

3.
We believe in the Saviour of men, the Lord Jesus Christ, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, very God and very man. (Luke 1:30; John 1:18; Isaiah 9:6)

4.
We believe in the creation, test, and fall of man, as recorded in Genesis: his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to divine righteousness. (Romans 5:12,18)

5.
We believe in the Gospel of the Grace of God, how that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day for our justification. (1Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 3:25)

6.
We believe in the salvation of sinners by Grace, through faith alone in the perfect and sufficient work of Christ on our behalf upon the cross of Calvary excluding all human merit, at which time all believers receive the Holy Spirit by faith. (Romans 5:1; Ephesians 2:8; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 9:12; John 20:22)

7.
We believe in water baptism of believers by immersion, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and/or in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.(Water baptism is not a means of salvation but an obedience to the Word of God, as an outward sign and testimony of an inward work) (Acts 2:38)

8.
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to and separate from salvation. We believe that, as a result, speaking in tongues becomes an available resource for every believer. (John 15:26; John 20:22; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 8; Acts 10:44-47; Acts 11:16; Acts 19:4-6.)

9.
We believe in the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in 1 Corinthians 12-14, being exercised and practised as manifest in the early church.

10.
We believe in the Lord's memorial, commonly called the Lord's supper, as a memorial for believers. (1Corinthians 11:23-32)

11.
We believe in the healing of the body by Divine power, or Divine Healing in many aspects as practised by the early Church. (Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; 1Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14; Exodus 15:26; Psalms 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:14-17; Mark 16:17; Acts 3:6; Acts 28:8-9.)

12.
We believe in the eternal life of the believer(John 10:27-29)and the eternal punishment of the unbeliever. (Mark 9:43-48; 2Thessalonians 1:9; Revelations 20:10-15; Revelations 21:8)

13.
We believe in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world, and the perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith. (Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 5:18; Romans 12:1-2; 2Corinthians 6:1-4; 2Corinthians 7:1; 1John 2:15-17; James 4:4.)

14.
We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His church. (John 14:2-3; 1Corinthians 15:51-54; 1Thessalonians 4:13-18)as well as His return to earth to set up the Kingdom (Acts 1:1; Revelations 1:7; Luke 1:32)

15.
We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and demons. (Matthew 4:1-11; Mark 1:12,13; Luke 4:1-4; Matthew 8:28-34)

16.
We believe in the reality and ministry of holy angels. (Matthew 4:11; Hebrews 1:5-14)
