Why it’s chosen: it gives a very dark feeling – ominous , as death is involved in the course.

Explanation: to be born into such a family is to be born into a world of violence.

Why it’s chosen: it hints of violence, which may in turn lead to death, thus giving an ominous foreboding. The word ‘fatal’ also adds to the ominous foreboding.

Why it’s chosen: Something which has yet to be revealed gives us an ominous feeling of foreboding as we are not sure of what it is.

Explanation: By some evil penalty of death coming before its time.

Why it’s chosen: Death is involved in this case as ‘untimely death’ suggests it.

‘ he that hath the steerage of my course direct my sail’ line112-3 ~ Romeo

Explanation: God or fate above has a part to play in the things happening, so, please direct me (Romeo).

Why it’s chosen: The future cannot be seen, as fate or God is the one controlling it, thus giving us a very insecure feeling, leading to ominous foreboding.

Explanation: I will not kill him (Romeo) now, but I will kill him later.

Why it’s chosen: Tybalt’s threat is extremely ominous, giving the audience a discomforting, foreboding of the tragedy to come.

Explanation: Juliet will die if she is not able to marry Romeo.

Why it’s chosen: This line said by Juliet is like as if Juliet is predicting her own life, as she does die in the end, to marry Romeo, and is thus ominous.

Explanation: My (Romeo’s) life is at the mercy of my enemy as now I am in love with my enemy (Juliet).

Why it’s chosen: This line is an accurate prediction of Romeo’s life, as Romeo does indeed die in the end because of his love for his enemy (Juliet), thus foreboding.

Explanation: My (Romeo’s) life is at the mercy of my enemy as now I am in love with my enemy (Juliet).

Why it’s chosen: Romeo does die in the end because of his love for Juliet who is his enemy.

Explanation: I (Juliet) have fallen in love with my enemy.

Why it’s chosen:  A mist of foreboding is formed as Juliet falls in love with her enemy , and thus her future can be said to be a dark one.
