Lady in the Garden
"If My people who are called by My name will humble
themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from
their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and
will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2
Chronicles 7:14

The Soldier I want you to close your eyes and picture in your mind the soldier at Valley Forge, as he holds his musket in his bloody hands. He stands barefoot in the snow, starved from lack of food, wounded from months of battle and emotionally scarred from the eternity away from his family surrounded by nothing but death and carnage of war. He stands tough, with fire in his eyes and victory on his breath. He looks at us now in anger and disgust and tells us this... I gave you a birthright of freedom born in the Constitution and now your children graduate too illiterate to read it. I fought in the snow barefoot to give you the freedom to vote and you stay at home because it rains. I left my family destitute to give you the freedom of speech and you remain silent on critical issues, because it might be bad for business. I orphaned my children to give you a government to serve you and it has stolen democracy from the people. It's the soldier not the reporter who gives you the freedom of the press. It's the soldier not the poet who gives you the freedom of speech. It's the soldier who salutes the flag, serves the flag, whose coffin is draped with the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag! Support the Soldiers You can support the U.S. troops by sending a Military Care Package to a deployed soldier. For more information you can visit Veterans of the Vietnam War, Inc. The only highlight in a deployed soldiers day is getting mail or talking to their family and friends. Some of the soldiers are single or have no family. A small act of writing a letter to one these soldiers could brighten their day. You all wore the flags after September 11th. Now let's make this another movement of patriotism. If you don't wish to write or donate you can still take part and pass this on to someone who might. Go here for a flier to pass out: Show Your American Spirit

Humanitarian Efforts in Iraq (Please Help) Helping the Iraqi citizens rebuild their country and lives also helps take some of the stresses off our soldiers. They are sometimes the targets for the aggressions from the Iraqi people. The attack of the UN council was an attack on the welfare of the Iraqi people. Please visit InterAction.org for a list of organizations accepting donations for relief in Iraq. Our U.S. soldiers are there, let's help improve the conditions they are working in.
