HOUSE OF TORK!

Inside the mind of one of the world's most genious people!

Or the most stupid. NO JUST KIDDING! (that is only a character on television)

Of course i am talking about Peter tork.

Update: June 5, 2004

Peter Tork has been busy the last few months touring with his band, Shoe Suede Blues. He will also be out on the road with his long time partner James Lee Stanley for the Two Man Band tour. You can look for upcoming tour dates on his website here.

My favorate Peter songs are:

"Your Auntie Grizelda" Featured in "More of the Monkees." this song is very humorous in the vocals, using the novilty style of some of the early 1960s and 1950s songs. but, unlike "One eyed one horned, flying purple people eater," this song is more garage band based. this song is also featured on many of the monkees' early TV eppisodes.

"Come on in" this song picks up on Peter's Folk sound in many respects. it is also a nice soft song to listen to. Featured on "Missing Links volume 2" it is a must listen to song.

"Gettin' In" YES! a "Pool It!" track! from the Monkees 1986 album, "pool it" this is one of the only Peter writen songs on the cd. a fast up beat song which reminds me very much of the "Ghostbusters' theme song"

"Lady's Baby" another Tork tune (hey, i like that, say THAT five times fast.) a bonus track on Birds and the Bees, it is another folk tune. this song actually took alot of time to record because peter wanted to use live recording of a baby for the background, instead of using already pre recorded sounds. the song also features Peter Tork's friend, Steven Stills on the album.

One of my favorate parts of the Monkees 2001 tour is when
Peter Tork was about to come out and do his solo performance.
Some fans made it to the stage and gave peter some fan letters.
He politly took them and smiled but as he began to flip through the letters,
he mad an aggitated face and as he threw the letters down on his key board,
he snapped "why am i always picking up micky's mail?!" The entire audience
laughed at the comment and so not to upset the fans, he immediatley
appologized and said how gratefull the Monkees were to have such wonderfull fans.

Take me back!
