The place for all Dolen-ites to groove, hang,
play a game of creebige and eat some tasty, fat-free monkee-snacks!
Update: June 5, 2004
Micky Dolenz has found success on Broadway, performing in the Disney production Aida. He has been in the cast of the Elton John and Tim Rice musical since January of 2004. The productions run will end early September.
George Michael Dolenz was born on March 8, 1945 at around 6:30am, in California. Micky is the oldest of 4 siblings; he has 3 sisters; all girls.
When he was 10 he got the part of Corky on the 1950's television show:
"Circus boy." But when the show was canceled, young Dolenz was out of work, until he was chosen to play the part of a drummer in the made for TV rock and roll group, The Monkees.
Some of my favorate Micky songs:
"Mary, Mary" A Mike Nesmith song Featured on the Monkee's second ablum, "More of the Monkees." The Garage band style song is up beat and dancible. The song was even covered by a few bands. But we know which version is the best, hehe
"Sometime in the Morning" A Carole King tune from the "More of the Monkees'" CD. This song was showcased on the show many times. its sweet melody and Micky's soothing voice make this a favorate of any fan.
"Porpoise Song" The theme song to the Monkees' 1968 Movie "Head." this song is written by Carole King and is quite different than her other pop style songs. it is a more abstract tune, soft and very interesting to listen to.
"Never Enought" a song written by Micky. it is showcased on the Monkee's Justus" Cd. another garage band style tune which starts off slow and speeds up as it goes along.
"Do Not Ask for Love Once More" (Prithee) This song can be found on the "Missing Links volume 2" cd. a soft enchanting tune with a moving melody. This song was also Sang by Peter Tork on the Monkees' 1969 Tv Special "33 1/3 Revolutions per Monkee."
THAT ONE IS FOR YOU JM!!!
Here is Juste Micky (JM) and her island/Monkee story...Guess which one she picked? Well, since her namd is juste MICKY, and this is in the MICKY page...i think her island dream is with MICKY!........
Micky is a party animal, with lots of energy,
so, i know he wont be the first to faint, like Mike would
(Hitting the HighSeas).
We share the same interest,
even if it got borning, i would love to start one of
those in depth conversations Micky likes to get into,
we could talk for days.
Micky likes building, so we could
build a grass tiki hut for shelter, piece of cake.
He's lived in CA his whole child and teenage life,
the guy has got to love going to the beach,
just me and micky swimming out there in the waves.
But lots of times in interviews,
the questions he gets asked, i take time to think about them,
and i notice i would have answered the same way,
i know that we would get along,
which is the key for living with somebody.
thats my main reason, i am 100% sure we would get along.
By being on the island, he wouldnt have
anywhere to get drugs, like he did as a monkee,
it would be like a rehab program for him.
And when we needed food,
we would by all means use his brilliant Giro copter
(that he builtin real life)to fly around the island looking for food.
Micky is the best monkee,muhahaha!!!
Thank you JM!
this next contribution is from Danielle Dolenz (5th monkee) What a name! She wrote why she would want to be on an island with Micky as well. and though her passage doesnt have anything to do with an islean...it's still cute!
Well! U know who I want it to be!!:):)
MICKY!! First of all cuz he is just sooo cute!
Second of all u get free music!:)LOL! Well I just
think he is the cuttest person ever and it would be
kool to be stranded on an Island w/ him cuz then
as if u were going to a concert, U wouldn't just get
an Autograph! U would get to hang out w/ him!!
Manda (Monkeedoodle) had contributed her opinion for July's question of the month.
The Question was...what song would you like to hear the Monkees do?
First of all, I like the Smashmouth version of I'm a Believer,
it sounds great to me! But, I'm one of those that would have
rather have had the Monkees re do it instead...LOL.
Anyhow, the first song that came to mind that I'd love
to hear the Monkees sing was "Knockin' on Heavens Door".
I don't know why, but I'd just LOVE to hear Micky sing that!
There are lots more, but that was the first one to pop into my head.
Thank you Manda!
Here is DavyFreak and why she would perform
"I'm a Believer" in front of the Monkees.
DavyFreak also describes why she would sing "It's Not Too Late"
You can find this selection on Davy's Page!
Thank you DavyFreak for contibuting to my site!
If I could perform a Monkee's song on stage in front of
the Monkees themselves, it would be "I'm A Believer"
because it's a great song to sing and groove to.
I believe they would think it was funny because I would be
groovin' big time and singin' my heart out!
I would just love to sing in front of them and show
how much I love them.
Here is Daneille Dolenz and why she would perform
"Im a believer" and "Daydream Believer"
It would be I'm a Believer because If I could do that,
then My dreams would come true and then I would be a
Believer that Dreams do come true!!
I would also sing DayDream Believer cuz Its the Best song ever!
Cuz it has really good Background music!!
Back to reality
Juste Micky...and her version of..Mr. webster
"Mr. Kirshner"
Ev'ryone in town knew Don Kirshner
He worked with the guys' for 40 years
And each week Mr. Dolenz made his check out
For 68 sodas clear
And through the years Dolenz poured many cokes upon Don
Until the day---that Kirshner snapped
Don strangled Mick into the hallway
Dolenz did not----know what to do
Then Nesmith comes a running to the rescue
And in his head he thought of a very clever plan
To get back Kirshner, the evil man
Then Nesmith put his plan to action
Said "Sorry Mick, just turn your head"
Then Mike Nesmith mooned Don Kirshner
Till he turned all white and fainted dead
And one by one all the people clapped for Nesmith
But Mick was so emotionally scarred
