Peces : Carpas y shubunkins del Estanque Grande (Fish : Carp and Shubunkins from the Big pond)

Los primeros habitantes del estanque fueron dos carpas (una naranja, comprada en Lujan, que habia sido mordida por un perro y tenia el lomo lastimado, sin escamas) y una blanca y negra. Despues tuvimos la mala idea de agregar cuatro shubunkins y tres carpas veliferas... Recien ahora, leyendo, nos enteramos que las carpas se cruzan con los shubunkins...y dan hibridos que en teoria no se reproducen...La cuestion es que el primer invierno todo parecia desierto...(en cierta medida era cierto, ya que los patos y biguas se habian comido las carpas veliferas y dos shubunkins...), pero en la primavera siguiente reaparecieron las dos carpas mas grandes, El shubunkin y mas de 35 crias... The first inhabitants of the big pond were two carps (one Orange,bought in Lujan,that has been bitten by a dog) and one black and white. Then, we have the bad idea of puting four shubunkins and three butterfly carps in the pond...Just now, reading about it, we know that carps mate with shubunkins and throw hybrids, that in theory don't reproduce itselfs...The first winter it all seems desert (it was nearly true, because the Biguas-big black birds- ate the butterfly carps and two shubunkins...), but in the next spring they have returned the two big carps, the shubunkins and more than 35 baby-fishes (I don't know if you call them Fry...till what age?) Ahora, lo dificil es saber de quien son las crias...si de las carpas grandes (no se si son macho y hembra) , si de una cruza de carpa velifera con carpa comun, o de carpa y shubunkin... Crecieron a una velocidad impresionante...(shubunkins puros no son!) y en un año estan mas grandes que los shubunkins...Parecen carpas-carpas...Abajo de todo hay una foto de ellas...por favor si alguien sabe si son carpas puras o no, mandenme un e-mail (al principio eran casi todas las crias marrones, y al poco tiempo empezaron a ponerse naranjas o naranja y blanco) (Por ahora nada de Azul!!) Now, the difficult thing is to know who are the parents of the baby fish...if they are the big carps (I don't know if they are male or female), or butterfly carp + common carp, or carp + shubunkin... They have grown up very quickly...(they are not pure shubunkins!) and in an year they are bigger than the shubunkins...They seem to be carps...Below is a picture of them, please e-mail me if someone knows what kind of fish are them...(At the beginning they were nearly all brown, and in a few time they have turned orange or orange with white, some of them remain brown...) (Not blue at the moment...)

Recien Llegados Just arrived

Miren la carpa naranja con el lomo sin escamas...tambien es interesante la carpa blanca y negra...no tenia ningun otro color...Esto era a fines de 1999... Look at the Orange carp with the "white" on its top (dog bit her)...also its interesting to see the black and white carp, it didn't have any other colour...This was at the end of 1999...


Esta foto es de este año, Agosto 2001, la carpa blanca y negra tiene nuevas tonalidades naranjas y la carpa naranja esta practicamente curada...
