| El Estanque grande estuvo
vacio durante muchos aņos, es un estanque de 20 metros
de diametro y unos 90 cm de profundidad. Despues lo
llenamos de agua, pero sin plantas ni peces...Teniamos el
problema de que si se caia algun perro, se ahogaba, y eso
fue lo que nos llevo a hacer una "escalera para
perros"...Tambien surgio la idea de agregarle una isla (de 3 mts
por 1,5 mts)...y canteros bajo el agua para poner nenufares y
lirios... The big pond remained empty during several years, it's a pond with a diameter of 20 metres and 90 cm deep. Afterward we filled it with water, but without plants or fish...We had the problem that if some dog fall inside it, he would drown, that's why we decided to make a "dog's stairs"...It also appeared the idea of adding an island (3metres x 1,5 metres)...and submerged beds for waterlilies , Iris Pseudacorus and Iris Louisiana... |

La Construccion- The Construction |

| Primero dibujamos en el piso las formas,
donde iban los canteros, la isla, la escalera...Despues
con ladrillo hueco y cemento formamos los canteros, a la
isla se le hizo una losa para que quedara mas firme...luego
rellenamos con tierra negra los canteros...plantamos los
lirios y empezamos a llenar...
First we draw the shapes of the island , the dog's stairs and the beds in the floor...Then, with bricks (those bricks with holes) and cement we made the structures...On the island we put a reinforced cover of cement to make it more solid...We filled with earth the big pots...and planted the plants. |

| A los maceteros para nenufares los
hicimos cuarenta cm por debajo de la superficie del agua...tambien
dejamos espacio entre los ladrillos, para que hubiera
circulacion de agua...despues les pusimos un tejido de
"media sombra" para que no se escapara la
tierra...y rellenamos con tierra negra cubierta por una
capa de canto rodado. The pots for the waterlilies are submerged 40 cm below the water level...also we leaved some space between the bricks so the water goes through them...afterward we put a plastic net with little holes, so the earth don't go away from the pots...After putting the earth we covered it with cobbles, and then planted the waterlilies.It has worked fine...The waterlilies had resist two winters and are growing very healthy. |
