| Sunday 25th February 2001 Arrived in Singapore on Friday and spent ages looking for somewhere to stay. The government has ordered the majority of hostels with dorms to close because of health and safety reasons. Eventually found Goh's homestay on Upper Weld Street. To sleep on a chair bed in the hall with a partition costs 5 quid. The proper dorms cost 8 quid. Glad we aren't staying in Singapore too long. Had a nice time last night when we met some Scottish girls. The host, Elan is a top bloke too. Went to the Art museum today which was nice. Sitting in the loudest computer centre in South East Asia. We are the only Westerners. The place is full of young Singaporeans shooting the hell out of each other with the speakers on full. Flight is at 9.50 tonight. I'll be glad to get to Bali. Nath |

| Sunday 4th March 2001 Well our week in Bali is drawing to an end. To be honest about it we have done very little, we did sit on our balcony a lot and even managed a bit of frisbee. Sounds ideal, I bet, to all you poor buggers slogging your guts off in cold disease ridden old England. Unfortunately, despite some sterling endevours chasing the ladies around Kuta, Nath is still yet to see some action but its only a matter of time me thinks. Kuta is a bit of a tourist trap but it's ok if you can get used to saying 'no thank you' a thousand times a day to the numerous watch, sarong, sunglasses selling massive. The real bonus of this place is the price, for under one pound fifty each a night we have a good room with a balcony and breakfast served in our room, beers about 40p a bottle, sorted. When we did escape Kuta and explore Ubud and the surrounding areas we saw some lovely lush green scenery, nice little villages and several women selling sarongs in a most forceful manner. Anyway Sydney next, till then cya ! Lel |
