Plo Koon is a male Kel Dor from the dusty world of Dorin. A Jedi Master and a member of the Jedi High Council, Plo Koon is one of the Order's strongest and most revered Knights. Plo Koon was born on Dorin, but was quickly identified as a Force-sensitive and taken to Coruscant for training under the tutelage of Master Tyvokka. Plo hailed from a long line of Kel Dor Jedi Knights, and it was apparent that Plo inherited his family's strong Force connection. He mastered use of the Force push, and could manipulate the air around him to conjure fog or ice to serve as a smokescreen against his foes. Plo also employed the controversial technique of fingertip-lightning, which Koon dubbed 'Electric Judgment'. Plo's judgment was seen to be harsh in comparison to his fellow Jedi; like most Kel Dor, Plo Koon saw moral issues in terms of black and white, and often took decisive action with little contemplation. This martial stance served Plo Koon - and the Republic itself - well during the Stark Hyperspace Conflict. After the death of his Master, Plo Koon rallied the Republic troops on Troiken against the forces of Iaco Stark. With Plo's reassuring words, and actions, the troops defeated Stark's men. Even after the battle, Plo did not neglect his troops, walking amongst them with words of comfort and healed as many as he could. The survivors of the conflict pledged their lives to Plo Koon, honouring him until their dying day. Plo was assisted in the war by his niece, Sha Koon, who helped forge a telepathic link between Plo and the Council on Coruscant. After the conflict, Plo Koon was made a Jedi Master, and held a seat on the Jedi Council - in honour of Tyvokka's dying wish. Plo was a distinctive presence on the Council, not least because of his striking appearance. Plo wore a pronged antiox mask over his face, since breathing oxygen could prove fatal to Kel Dor. Plo only removed his mask and goggles in the privacy of his own, pressurized quarters. He also possessed highly developed extrasensory organs that helped supplement his already formidable Jedi abilities. Koon also kept himself in peak physical strength, with his well-muscled form filling out his traditional Jedi robes. Prior to the Battle of Naboo, Plo Koon embarked on a mission to halt the threat of the Yinchorri, and alongside his old friend Micah Giett, Koon traveled to Yibikkoror, one of the moons of the Yinchorri homeworld. There, the Jedi team managed to escape when Plo masked their presence with a smokescreen. He later participated in the battle against the Yinchorri on the battlefield of Yinchorr, though sadly, Micah was killed in the fight. Plo would lose another good friend a year on, when Qui-Gon Jinn met his fate at the hands of a Sith Lord. This alarming event sparked much debate on the Council, on which Plo remained into the next decade. Ten years on, Plo Koon accompanied Mace Windu's strike team to Geonosis, and, alongside Ki-Adi-Mundi, attempted to shut down the droid control system controlling the battle droids currently surrounding their fellow Jedi. Unfortunately, the Separatists had a backup control device, and Koon and Mundi were captured. They were marched to the execution arena where the surviving Jedi awaited imminent death. Just as the surrounding battle droids readied their blasters, the Jedi escaped with the timely intervention of the Republic Army. Plo Koon led clone troopers into battle on Geonosis, and served as a General in the Grand Army during the Clone Wars. Though he led campaigns on many worlds, Koon often preferred combat from within the cockpit of his Jedi starfighter. He fought pirate fleets on several occasions, and commanded clone pilots in battle over Brentaal IV. Sadly, Koon's last battle in the Clone Wars ended in tragedy. Flying through the skies of Cato Neimoidia on a reconnaissance sweep after a major battle, Plo Koon was suddenly attacked by his ARC-170 wingmates. Order 66 had been issued, and the clone pilots shot down their Jedi General. Plo Koon did not survive the explosion. George Lucas altered the name by removing the 'n' to create Plo Koon. In Episode II, Plo Koon was to have featured in a scene in which he and a Jedi strike team raid a Core Ship on Geonosis to shut down the battle droids.
