Fresh admissions in Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC Panvel are made on 1st april each year for class 1 and onwards. Registration of application is generally done in February/March. There are little chances for fresh admissions in class 2 and above as the students coming on transfer from other kendriya vidyalayas fill the available vacancies. The child should have completed 5 years by the 1st of April. No relaxation is given on age limit. Upper age limit is upto 2 years and so on. The only acceptable proof of age is the certificate of birth issued by the authority competent to register birth viz. Municipality, Notified area committee at the place of birth of the child. In case the child was born in rural area the certificate should be obtained from the Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat. (bearing page no., Serial no., date of Gram Panchayat from the panchayat register). Extract copy from search records (Part-II order) of Defence personnel is acceptable. The date of birth recorded in the transfer certificate issued by the school recognized by the State Education department will also be acceptable. Date of birth once got recorded by the parent at the time of admission of his child/children in Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC Panvel will not be changed. Students coming from other Kendriya Vidyalaya on transfer of their parents to the station will be admitted on the basis of their previous academic record and T.C from the KV last attended, subject to the approval of the assistant commissioner wherever necessary. All other students (not studied in KVs) will have to take an admission test in the subjects given below on the dates and timings as notified by the Principal on the school notice board. Please notice carefully the registration or appearance in test is not a guarantee for admission. Primary classes English, Hindi and Arithmetic (excluding class I)
Other classes English, Hindi, Maths, General Science Social Studies Class XI would be made in order of merit in the sequence of categories of priorities on the basis of board results of class X in the following order A minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and, a minimum of 50% marks in Science and, a minimum of 55% marks in Mathematics & Science taken together and, a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects. Science without Mathematics A minimum of 55% in Science alone and a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects. A minimum of 45% marks in all subjects. Mathematics can be offered if the child obtains a minimum of 50% marks in this subject. Science stream/commerce stream with Informatics Practices Admission for computer science would be based on the marks obtained in class X examination irrespective of whether the student has taken Science or Commerce stream. For the purpose, combined merit list of not more than 30 applicant students should be prepared to give admission for computer science as an elective subject in class XI. Students belonging to SC/ST may be given a maximum concession of 05 marks in an individual subject, or a maximum concession of 05 marks spread over different subjects so that the total concession in all these subjects taken together does not exceed 05 marks. The following relaxation will also be granted to students who participated in games and sports/scouting & guiding/NCC/Adventure activities at various levels.
The concession may spread over different subjects, aggregate marks of AISSE (Class X) so that total concession does not exceed the required limit as given in the above table. The Principal may admit children in class XI above the class strength who have secured 80% or more marks in class X examination irrespective of their category. Note: It may be noted that the no. of transfers would no longer be relevant for assigning priority to children for admission. A transfer within the preceding 7 years would be relevant only for relevant deciding whether the child falls in category I or not. It would not be relevant for anything beyond this. No admission will be normally allowed in classes X and XII. It may be considered by the commissioner in case the child studied in a school where the same course of study is followed.
Fifteen percent and seven-and-half percent of the fresh admission in every Kendriya Vidyalaya will be reserved for the children of transferable employees belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe respectively.
