After a Long Vacation, My car is back...........
My car has been through a lot since I bought it in 1995. When I learned what could be done to a turbo car I immediately fell into the craze. I thought to myself 4 cylinder turbo going as fast and faster than a V8, NO WAY!!! I learned fast that it was very common for these cars. Best time for my car on the stock turbo was 12.8 back in mid 1997, with only a full turbo back 3" exhaust, ported turbo and exhaust manifold, an upgraded fuel system, and raising the boost from the factory setting. The car had some bad luck after that. I took the car in to the Dealer to replace the timing belt under warranty, and about 1,000 miles later, something loostened up, and the timing belt skipped while I was accelerating at full boost, causing the valves to hit the pistons, OUCH!!!!!! The dealer replaced the head, but the car was NEVER the same again. A year and a half later, a rod bearing went and that was it for that motor. So it was time to start rebuilding.
While the tranny was out for the engine rebuild, I decided to rebuild it as well, replacing all the syncronizers, but when I opened it up, I knew there was more to be done than I thought. There are two large nuts that hold the tranny together, and one of them backed off a bit. Something that is an occasional occurance from the factory. Check out the link to the Transmission Page Below in the "tech pages" links. One of the main shafts was able to move back and forth, and this caused Most of the tranny internals to need to be replaced. I am still rebuilding that tranny, but got a really good deal on a basically brand new tranny.

Greddy Turbo Integra GSR Gary Ayers' personal website
And my Friend's 1996 Eagle Talon AWD Turbo, which I will be submitting a full page with specs in the near future. Estimated horsepower using the MPH method seen above is 325 hp. Best time 13.1 seconds at 107 mph with a motor that eventually suffered "CrankWalk" and is no longer in the car. The day we managed those times, the car was weighing in at 3500 lbs.
