Shifter Linkage Mod
This is still Under Construction.
Are you one of those guys who gets a 94 tranny and has to put it in your early 90 or 89??? Well here's a VFAQ to clear some of the air on this subject.
I bought a Brand New 90 Spec tranny. Well, all New Transmissions
from Mitsubishi supposedly come with the internals of the year they rolled off the production line, except for such parts like the 22 spline output shaft to the transfer case. Therefore this 90 transmission directly bolts to a 90 car, BUT it has 97 internals since it was rolled off the production line in 97. So getting a good deal on this, I snatched it up. I replaced the 22-Spline output shaft with my Old 92 Transmission 23 spline shaft.
The object of this VFAQ is to show how in my case I am putting the 93 shifter levers into this 90 tranny, so it will work with my 92 Cables, Shifter, etc....
So take a look and if you have any questions feel free to email me at: [email protected]

Here is the assembly on the tranny. You need to cut the Box Shaped part in order to rotate the assembly to hammer out the pin from the back. The reason for this is that the pin is not the same diameter throughout the whole length, its shaped like a cone, so you have to bang it out from the back, or risk hammering it in and not being able to get it out. I tried that method, and almost ruined things. If you know of an easier way, let me know, but I had trouble, so I came up with this method.
Here is a pic of the cut box on the left, and the new one on the right. The new one costs about $6 with the DSM 25% discount at Connecilli Mitsubishi in Penssylvania. Free Plug
Here you see the first Shift fork lever. The Dark Green one, which is the longer one, is the 91-Up spec.
Here you see the other Shift fork lever. The short Dark Green one which is on the left, is the 91-Up. The longer one on the right is the 89-90. I
