Welcome to the Kutsher's Camp Anawana Alumni Page!
I hope that this page brings back wonderful memories to all those campers, counselors and other staff members of Camp Anawana. The Camp operated until the end of the 1992 season in Monticello, NY and was owned and operated by
Milton and Helen Kutsher (of the Kutsher's Country Club).

Visit the
Catskills Institute, run by Brown University. It is very nostalgic!

Now online is the
January 2008 newsletter

Reunion Plans
There are feelers for a reunion in South Florida, Los Angeles, and a Western Reunion/Younger Alumni Reunion.
After the 2002 reunion, a poll on the Yahoo list showed that people would like annual reunions. Perhaps we can have annual picnics/bbqs at a park or someone's house and every five or so years, have a big blowout weekend in the Catskills? If you are interested in hosting a "mini" reunion, or organizing a major one, step up and do it! Regional ones can happen as well. (we have many alumni in SoCal, Florida and New England and even several in Australia) If you want to see if there is enough interest, let me to know to post something in the newsletter********** and on the website or you can post something on the messageboard (links at bottom of the page).

**********To make sure you are in the loop on future reunions and other important news, make sure I have your email address. Also, notify me of any changes of your email address. If I don't have your current email address, I can't keep you up to date.

ANAWANA HALL OF FAME

If anyone would like to coordinate the voting for the 2008 Class, please let Cathy know.

Sadly, we have lost several alumni,
including Steve Lillianthal who passed away on September 11th. His sister Mindi was a camper and his mother Marsha was Camp Mother. To leave a memory you can go to http://www.cantorfamilies.com/cantor/jsp/index.jsp

Memories of Anawana? We have millions of them. The favorite memories seem to revolve around Brooks Brickman. There are pictures of Brooks with
Boys Bunk 4 in 1976 and this one with his wife Sylvia and this (new to me) photo of Brooks at the waterfront in 1991 Another favorite memory is of the Maurice Stokes Game. There are so many alumni memories that I had to put them on four separate pages (arranged alphabetically by last names): Memories Page One (A-E), Memories Page Two (F-K), Memories Page Three (L-R) and Memories Page Four (S-Z). To add anything to the memories page, fill out the survey!

There are pictures galore! So far, there are ten albums of camp related pictures:
Album One, Album Two, Album Three, Album Four, Album Five, Album Six, Album Seven, Album Eight, Album Nine, Album 10, Album 11, Album 12, Album 13, Album 14 and Album 15! Thanks to Dawn Seitz, Skid Faber, Mark Horowitz and Wendy Brickman, we have started a 16th Album If you recognize anyone in the pictures, please let me know at [email protected] There was a reunion in 1995 and a "mini reunion" in June of 2002. The first page has pictures from 1995 reunion and some June 2002. The second page has the rest of the June 2002 pictures and the first of the September 2002 pictures. The rest of the September 2002 pictures can be found in the third and fourth albums (includes pictures of October 2006 reunion). Reunion 2006 pictures continue in the fifth, sixth,
seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, 12th and 13th albums. Thanks to Judy Brandt, that album has been updated and there are new pictures in a 14th album!
If you have have any pictures, whether they are from the recent reunion, your years at Anawana, or are pictures of you now, please send them to me at [email protected] in gif or jpeg format and do your best to ID as many people as possible!
Mark Horowitz took pictures, mostly of the lake area, when he visited the camp in 2001 -
see his pictures here.

We are
looking for some alumni - perhaps you can help us find them.

There is an
archive of postings to the guestbook - and a second archive and a third archive and a fourth archive, a fifth archive, (archive six deleted due to error) and a seventh archive.

Thank you to Kenny Funk for the logo at the top of the screen.

Any changes/corrections, additions and/or requests to have something removed from this site MUST be made directly to me. To make such a request, simply click on my name to send me an email. Any and all reasonable requests will be made ASAP.
