My Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy a
variety of activities. Favorite outdoor places and activities include:
weekend get aways to Padre, Mustang or the primitive and secluded Matagorda
Island (Want a primitive and secluded beach experience?) all
good places for moonlit walks and swims, swimming
at area rivers and lakes (Canyon Lake is nice but I prefer Buchanan, Inks,
LBJ and Lake Marble Falls), camping and hiking
in the national and state parks (The National Parks in Colorado and New
Mexico are favorites), laying in the middle of nowhere
stargazing.
Other activities include: walks and picnics in the park (Olmos and
Brackenridge), Backyard and patio BBQs, volleyball (either sand or court),
country drives through the Hill Country (esp during the Fall/Spring), visiting
the small Texas towns, stopping at the fruit and vegetable stands along
the road, Pastimes include: quiet evenings
at home watching Spurs games, listining
to Country, Smooth Jazz, 70s, 80s and early 90s Rock/Dance music, collecting
lyrics from favorite songs, cooking (esp ethnic foods: Puerto Rican, Mexican,
Italian, Chinese and German) studying Spanish and German. I enjoy studying
Spanish and It would be fun to have someone to improve/practice it with.
I also enjoy
building (modeling) miniture trains. I collect cars and engines from the
Santa
Fe Railroad in the late 1970s. I also collect cars and engines from
other Texas railroads, MK&T,
Missouri
Pacific and Southern Pacific. The scale I model in is what is known
in the hobby as HO, 1 foot is 87 scale feet. I enjoy going to the various
railroad events here in Texas. I ride the train, Amtrak, whenever the opportunity
arises. I am also a member of several Railroad groups.
