Medals for Valor:

The Union Medal of Honor
Awarded to the Yankee soldier with the lowest total score on the final 18 holes (battlefields 10 - 27).
The Confederate Medal of Honor
Awarded to the Rebel soldier with the lowest total score on the final 18 holes (battlefields 10 - 27).
Rules for Cannonade and Sharpshooter Medals:
On holes selected for Longest Cannonade competition, the winner of that hole will be the player whose ball travels the greatest distance when fairly struck from the teeing ground and comes to rest in the fairway of the same hole being played for the Longest Cannonade competition.� Balls coming to rest outside of the fairway boundaries are disqualified.� On holes selected for Sharpshooter competition, the winner of that hole will be the player whose ball comes to rest the shortest distance from the pin when fairly struck from the teeing ground of the same hole being played for the Sharpshooter competition.� Balls that do not come to rest on the green are disqualified.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
Best Ball (2-Man Scramble) format
Each soldier plays his/her own ball from the teeing ground.  Corps-mates will then select the "best" ball to play, and will play their next shot from within one club-length of the position of the "best" ball  location until holed.
The winning team will be the team with the
lowest score.
One point available per hole - Nine total points available - holes may be halved
Scoring Example:
The Union team scores: 4.� The Confederate team scores: 5
Union wins one point
Four-Ball format
Each soldier plays his/her own ball from the teeing ground until the ball is holed.� The lowest score by any player on the hole wins the hole for his/her team.  One point available per hole - Nine total points available - holes may be halved
Scoring Example:
The Union team scores: 5; 5 (5).� The Confederate team scores: 6; 4 (4)
Confederates win one point
Match format
Each Union soldier will be matched against each Confederate soldier in head - to - head competition. These pairings will be pre-assigned and will remain unchanged until the tournament ends on battlefield 27.�
Two points available per hole - 18 total points available - holes may be halved
Scoring Example:
Union A scores: 4���� Confederate A scores: 5���� Union A wins one point
Union B scores: 5���� Confederate B scores: 5���� The hole is halved.� Each receive � point
