RUBBERFACE

1981 BOMB 48 mins.

Can you say, "Waste of time?" That is what this film is. Jim Carrey, in his first film role, plays a wannabe stand-up comedian. He can't write good material, though. Adah Glassbourg plays an outcast girl with no friends who can write well (so the story goes, but in my opinion, she can't write well at all) but is afraid of getting in front of people. So, she writes for him, and blah, blah, blah, blah. This film, despite its short 48-minute length, seems to drag on for eternity. It is not funny in the least bit, and it is a complete waste of celluloid. Jim Carrey fans, stick with the films you know and love, for this is a waste of time.
