Hawaii Pic-A-Day Gallery - Day 15
Back to the Mountains - Not long after conquering Moana Loa, the largest mountain on Earth, I went back to check out it's sister Mauna Kea. Mauna Kea has the distinction of being the tallest mountain on the planet. It's base is more than 18,000 feet below the surface of the ocean and it's summit is almost 14,000 feet above sea level, resulting in a height of more than 30,000 feet from base to summit. |
