I would like to start off by saying Welcome to my site.  I hope you find this site informative, relaxing and most of all enjoyable.
As you can see, I am still in the process of working on this site so please bear with me.
As with any family, I get busy with the kids and day to day activities that trying to find time to get this all done has been quite a challenge.
My Great-Grandmother used to say, "If ya' are gonna make remarks about history, make sure you get the facts striaght.  It's not hard to do, it's history".
I think that my Great-grandma (as I used to call her) was one of the most stubborn, sharp witted and greatest story tellers in my family.
I remember this one time when I was in the fourth grade.....My teacher, Mr. Housefield, gave our class a project on family history.
I asked my great-grandma to help me with this assignment.  It took a month of preparations.  We didn't have room for mistakes.  (For me, there was no room for mistakes it was my grade, and for my elders it was for historical purposes).
My mom and great-grandma sewed costumes while I wrote my speech (which I also had help with from my great-grandma).
When all the prep work was done, and the day of my presentation arrived I was quite excited.  My great-grandma came to the school in her costume and me in mine.
We had on pioneer outfits with bonnets and all.  Both my great-grandma and I put together a speech that told the most amazing story.
The story basically was about how my Great-Great-Great Grandmother Maron was among the first group of settlers to cross over Donner Summit after the Donner Party Inncident.  On top of that,  my Great-Great-Great-Grandma was pregnaut with my Great-Grandma's mother at the time they traveled in covered wagons over Donner Pass.
It still is a fasinating story for me. (The presentation impressed my class as well as my teacher.  I believe I got an "A" on that project.  Thanks Mr. Housefield).

I hope you enjoyed that little piece of my own history.
