| Charles Herbert Martindale Family began with a meeting on a dance floor. Charles was an Army Drill Instructor at Ft. McClellan in Alabama. Alice Sprunck worked with The L&N Railroad in Birmingham. Towards the end of World War II, Alice and her friends used to go dances at the USO. There they loved to jitterbug and fox-trot with the soldiers. Charles and Alice met on one of those USO dance floors and married a short while later. Charles was discharged from the Army and the couple moved to Sandy Ridge, AL. This is where Charles and Alice began their family. |
