2008

My friend Rick J. is lucky. He says he works with a great staff, and I saw that first-hand, which was awesome. However, others are not so lucky. That brings me to a number: 13.5. That's the number the 1951 Giants overcame the Dodgers to win the pennant. That's also the number of hours that TESOL teachers are overpaid by. And they all signed this letter to challenge the school's owners. But meanwhile, I was NOT part of this movement because I don't agree with it. And I sat down and tabulated the numbers in detail and got that 13.5 figure. So, the teachers that I work with are overpaid and yet want more.

And, Harini may be young, but she proved that at such a young age, she is very disrespectful of others in society. She made this racist and smug comment - and the key word here is "smug" - that her parents raised her a certain way, and that X is superior than Y, dissing among other things other cultures and occupations. Based on her comments, she basically labelled non-professional workers as low-lives. Geez. I guess without hairdressers, restaurant servers, trash collectors, etc., the world would be a better place, eh, Harini? That was beasically the translation from her rant. I'd love to see how she survives without these workers in our society. Then she'd have to go and fetch her own newspaper, cook her own food, etc. Meanwhile, she was telling sob stories about her life. I have no time for people like this. Not after thoughtless comments like that.

And Andrew Claxton started calling Toby "Wizard" and making fun of him after Toby had quit. Real professional there, eh? And this from a guy (Andrew) who claimed he used to put "special ingredients" (which, in my book, is the same as 'poison' because how do you know that customer doesn't have allergies?) in people's food when he was a server himself as a teen working in a restaurant.

Over in another corner, Andrew G., Catherine, and Azar were secretly whispering and giggling that the owners paid them for BC Day by mistake, and that they weren't going to tell them that we all got overpaid. Hello? BC Day IS a stat holiday, and if they had checked that, they would have known instead of making dumb comments. Some people.
