I don't care much for basketball, but the NBA and the media are are wrong in their treatment of Tim Hardaway. He was asked a question about his opinions on a Miami radio station and he gave it, and he was honest with his opinions, but the NBA and the media rip him for that.  Well, then maybe if the public doesn't approve of people's genuine comments, then maybe they should just give athletes a script every time they do interviews or why bother doing interviews at all if you're gonna rip people for sharing their honest feedback?  That's why hockey players are stupid; they always give predictable answers and it's like it's not what they feel but it's what they have to say.

DON'T go to Electric Internet Cafe on West Pender and Seymour.  TERRIBLE customer service.  I went there once last month, and the guy that was at the counter didn't even know how to smile and I would think that if you see a new customer, you'd try to be friendly. But this jerkface wasn't. Now, I don't know if he's the owner, or if he just works there, but if he's the owner, he's an idiot. And if he's just an employee, hey, if you don't like that job, then maybe you should get a new one instead of sulking at your customers.

Today on the sports radio, the talk-show guys were marvelling Cal Ripken's baseball career. Everyone seems to think that Ripken's an icon and a savior for baseball. Well, I've always thought he was an idiot too. According to a book (I'll find the title and write it here later) telling the story of the 1996 Yankees season, the authors/reporters stated that Cal Ripken sulked at his Baltimore manager (who was a proven winner with several teams), teamed up with some of his teammates to revolt against the manager, sulked when he was removed from a game in favour of a faster base-runner in a tie game (even though it didn't affect his consecutive-games streak), didn't support the manager's decision of being taken out when asked about it by reporters after the game, refused to talk to teammate Manny Alexander when the manager moved Ripken from SS to 3B and installed Alexander at SS. As a veteran, this idiot Ripken didn't even bother to welcome Alexander and show him the ropes; instead he just ignored him and made him feel uncomfortable. Yeah, sure, if doing all that means he's an icon, then everyone should just go to work doing the same thing that he's pulled off. And of course, the media loves him so none of this ever gets talked about. He's a hero in everyone's eyes. Stupid American public and stupid media.

Some people charge $35 per hour tutoring ESL.  Now, THAT's a rip-off. It's not like Biology 12 or Physics 11, and it's not even English Lit or anything. It's ESL tutoring, and I wonder how some people have the nerve to charge such outrageous amounts.  I call tutoring "scamming", because that's exactly what it is.  It's some student paying some "teacher" that kind of money just to sit there and make conversation.  I guess the sad part is that in our society, it's all about money. All I can say is that some people don't have any scruples. Well, I guess if the "customer" here is willing to pay, then it's not anyone's business but theirs...

On the other side, though, there have been students who like to take advantage of a "friendship" that they perceive that exists. One student had the nerve to ask me to do tutoring for free.  I told the student that she was an idiot -- to her face, and repeatedly -- and of course refused to do so.  I don't have time for nonsense and if I want to tell someone that they're stupid or an idiot, I would do it.

I was at Pizza Hut yesterday, waiting for a pick-up, and there were 3 parents and a bunch of young children with them. What I saw is what I will say: The 2 Chinese parents are both idiots; they let their children run all over the place without even bothering to discipline them.  The Chinese mom was busy talking loudly on her cellphone while her kids were playing at the door, making noises, and trying to touch the pizza that the kitchen staff put on the counter that was waiting to be brought out to the customers' tables once the server wasn't too busy.  Such undisciplined children and a pea-brain of a mother.  Meanwhile, the second parent (a different family), was a Chinese man that just allowed his kids to make noises while he just stood there like a log.  The third parent, a Caucasian mom, was at least able to control HER kids and not let them make too much noise around her.  Good job to this parent; lousy jobs to the 2 Chinese parents.

And by the way, Pizza Hut screwed up on my order. I requested mushroom and red onions on the pizza.  They had mushroom and cheese and pepperoni.  Geez thanks.
**PS: I am Chinese too so I am not a racist.  I just say what I saw, and I conclude these from their actions/behaviour.

A lot of people on the bus are idiots. They just don't consider those around them. Stupid idiots. Like this morning, this young woman (college girl?) decided to sit with her back against the window, and her feet ON the seat beside her - so not only taking up 2 seats but putting her stinky shoes ON the 2nd seat as well. And she does this so causally as though there's nothing wrong and she's sitting at home. Stupid piece of white trash. She got off the bus to catch the 135 SFU bus. That explains that. An SFU student.
